Job Description/Responsibilities:
Entravision Communications is in the process of looking for a Chief Engineer for its Sacramento, CA location. The Chief Engineer is a department head that reports directly to the General Manager with a dotted line to the V.P. & Dir. of Radio Engineering. The primary responsibility of the Local Market Chief Engineer will be to operate, monitor, and repair all facets of the operation that have to do with addressing issues that impact keeping it’s four (4) radio stations on the air for in studio equipment, main and auxiliary radio transmitters. Including but not limited to:
* Monitoring the operation of all studio and transmitter equipment.
* On call 24/7 to respond to any off-air conditions.
* Monitoring of our remote control logging systems.
* Monitor the reception of EAS LP monitoring stations.
* Monthly inspection of main and auxiliary transmitter sites.
* When aware of incoming in climate weather to maintain/check all station main and back-up transmitters and back-up units.
* Prepare for planned utility outages.
* Maintain the company 4WD vehicle.
* Schedule fueling and maintenance of on-site back-up generators
* Submit weekly engineering report to General Mgr and VP of Radio Engineering.
* Other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or VP of Radio Engineering.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
Must be a highly motivated self-starter with a minimum of 5 years broadcast engineering experience with strong verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will be a self starter who can work independently. Strong project management skills are a must. Knowledge of general software programs; Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint etc, are essential.

 Radio Internship
The KBMB Promotions Department Internship Program is an excellent opportunity for college students to gain valuable experience in the promotion and marketing aspects of radio. If you are an outgoing, energetic, dynamic, fun, enthusiastic, hard working and organized people-person, then KBMB’s Promotions Department is looking for you!
As a member of KBMB promotions, your duties include interacting with listeners, assisting with station concerts and events, internet research projects and more.
KBMB is now looking for interns for the Spring 2010 term. Internships require an applicant to be receiving academic credit for the internship--it is the applicant’s responsibility to set up the internship with the school. All intern positions are unpaid and you must be 18 years of age or older. You must be able to commute to and from the KBMB office, and some nights and weekends are required.
Internship Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university
- Able to adjust to working in an office AND in community events
- Must have a flexible schedule
- A self starter and motivated to do a good job
- Maintain professionalism with various types of people
